Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590

Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national, regional and local current events, as well as trends in the local real estate market. Ed delivers intelligent radio with unique, witty and irreverent flair.

This week, Ed begins the show by examining the HERO™ program, which is the government’s program for home energy improvements. The HERO program has gained tremendous popularity in parts of the Inland Empire over the past few years. It was designed to help homeowners pay for energy efficient improvements such as solar panels, by adding the amount of the contractor’s bill to their property taxes. Ed is a fan of the program, but with certain caveats – and he has valuable tips for homeowners who are interested in using this program to fund solar projects. If you want the home improvement and utility bill advantages of the HERO program, but you want to get the most for your money (because you will pay for this upgrade – just not upfront), listen to the show this week to get Ed’s valuable insight.

Speaking of energy, the Senate approved the Keystone Pipeline bill this week – despite the President’s pledge to veto it when it reaches his desk. Ed’s opinion on the Keystone Pipeline (and those who oppose it) is summarized on this week’s show; if you’re on the fence about the supposedly controversial project, tune in to get the information you need.

Hopefully, you know by now that there is talk Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl may be charged with desertion for his decision to walk away from his post in 2009 before he was supposedly “captured” by the Taliban. On this week’s show, Ed reveals a little-known fact that many people aren’t talking about: What Bergdahl’s father really said in Arabic during the press conference in the White House Rose Garden upon his son’s release. Here’s a hint: It contains the words, “Praise Allah.”

As of Friday morning, we learned that Mitt Romney has finally decided against running for President for a third time. Ed has been a fan of the former Governor, although he feels that he wasn’t the most exciting candidate. But in regards to the things the media attacked Romney on in 2012, Ed believes they weren’t fair. Regarding the infamous “47 percent” remark wherein Romney was caught on hidden camera referring to people who don’t pay taxes, Ed says, “I thought it was a good thing.” Regardless, Romney’s time has come and gone and Ed – like many conservatives – is looking forward to selecting a new, fresh candidate. And, Ed believes, it isn’t Rand Paul. Tune in to find out why…and, find out who Ed believes may announce his candidacy at the Unite IE Conservative Conference on February 21!

On this week’s show, you’ll also hear:

Who, in Ed’s opinion, was really behind Romney’s decision not to run in 2016
Why Ed likes Scott Walker – for those who like him, but don’t know why.
Where Ed believes the recent measles outbreak really started – and it’s not Disneyland.
Valuable advice if you plan on buying or refinancing in 2015 – before you file your taxes!
