Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national, regional and local current events, as well as trends in the local real estate market. Ed delivers intelligent radio with unique, witty and irreverent flair.
The show opens this week with audio from the movie “The Contender,” which focuses on the premise that in order for one to obtain power, one must show true pettiness – and in order to exercise power, one must show true greatness. Ed uses this to criticize the inefficiency of President Obama and the lack of true greatness.
Ed interviews Republican gubernatorial candidate Neel Kashkari, who will reiterate his message that he will strive to rebuild California, create more jobs and improve schools for students. Ed endorses Kashkari and encourages others to follow suit and to donate to his campaign. Tune in to hear Ed and Kashkari discuss the candidate’s homeless experience and his message to Governor Jerry Brown in regards to losing 6,500 new jobs.
Owner of Don’s Bicycles Scott McAfee joins Ed again on his show this week, and introduces his satirical video that makes a political stand about Israel and Hamas. As someone who agrees with Israel, Scott uses humor to make a political point and the video can be viewed at www.edhoffman.net.
Ed shares the report of two fighter jets colliding last week and how there was barely any news coverage of the pilot that was killed, while instead, the BBC found it more pertinent to report the cost of the fighter jets over the aviator’s ultimate sacrifice.
Scott and Ed discuss America’s weakness and the rising movement in the Middle East that is gaining strength while the administration does nothing, or very little. They also discuss the fact that should another attack take place, it shouldn’t be a surprise. Additionally, they agree on the importance of keeping the conversation alive about 9/11 lest it be denied later in the future, as some people are trying to deny the occurrence of the Holocaust.
Ed plays audio clips of statements made by Hillary Clinton, which he and Scott dissect and criticize. Tune in to hear their banter over talking points, elections being compared to the DMV and the Jewish boycott.
Catch Ed Hoffman, host of The Main Event, on air this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with encore presentations at 9 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m.
