This week, Ed kicks off the show by addressing a listener who complained that Ed’s cultural criticisms tied to the housing market bordered on racism. Ed clarifies his remarks, stating that he did not say what the listener believes he said, and furthermore, he does not hold any racist views at all. However, what he does believe is that we must stop blaming all of society’s problems on America’s checkered racial history. “It’s time to get over it,” Ed says, and stop looking for racism around every corner. “I’m over it.”

When it comes to local real estate, Ed has thoughts on financing, re-financing, and dealing with real estate agents who also represent themselves as lenders. Because he believes mortgage lending is too complicated for agents and Realtors® to do concurrently with their existing jobs, Ed cautions buyers against getting pre-qualified by an agent who claims to also be a lender.

Now that the Ebola virus is heavily on the minds of Americans, Ed discusses the government’s approach to the epidemic and its implications on public health. “We don’t need them to ban plastic bags,” Ed says. “We need them to protect us from this…but they don’t think it’s fair to stop airlines from flying to and from West Africa.” He has criticisms for the patient being treated at a Dallas hospital right now, as this man is believed to have lied multiple times about whether he was exposed to the Ebola virus. “He knew he had Ebola,” Ed says, “and some people have said they saw him throwing up in the parking lot.” He has choice words for this man, as he appeared to knowingly expose people after he started experiencing symptoms.

To Fox News Channel’s Alan Colmes, who called the media outcry regarding Ebola “scaremongering” designed to send Americans into an unnecessary panic, Ed says, “What would you do if it was your family that was exposed?” He makes the argument that Ebola is a legitimate public health crisis that warrants our attention, and our government – starting with the Centers for Disease Control and ending with the President himself –needs to do everything it can to put a stop to the risks of more Americans being exposed. Next, Ed urges informed Americans to take the role of educator when it comes to teaching their kids, their friends and co-workers about what really matters in our culture today.
