Wells Fargo will donate $6 million to 54 nonprofit agencies, including two in the Inland Empire, that will be used to help stabilize and revive neighborhoods that have been hurt by the economy.
Mary Eckerson Community Housing in Riverside and the Neighborhood Housing Services of the Inland Empire will both receive money from that grant, which was announced Tuesday.
The money will be distributed by the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation Priority Markets Program, which donates money to neighborhood stabilization programs throughout the United States, according to a statement.
Since 1993, the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation has donated nearly $300 million to nonprofits that support affordable housing and community revitalization. The program has also provided an estimated 4.7 million volunteer hours to build or restore more than 5,000 homes during the past 20 years, according to the statement.
