Private U.S businesses added more jobs in November than had been added in any month during the past year.
Companies and small businesses added 215,000 jobs during the past month, mostly because of gains in construction and manufacturing, according to a report originally published by the Associated Press.
Private employers added 184,000 jobs in October, according to the report, which cited ADP, the payroll processing company, as its source.
ADP originally predicted that private employers would add 130,000 jobs nationwide during October, according to the report.
ADP’s numbers cover only private businesses, so they sometimes don’t match up with the more comprehensive numbers on hiring issued monthly by the U.S. Department of Labor. However, the numbers are still considered an indication that job creation is on the rise throughout the country.
Employers of all sizes added jobs in November, and service firms added 176,000 jobs during the month, the most in one year, according to the report.
