UCR to help undocumented students

UC Riverside is planning to hire a coordinator who will help undocumented students.

Money for the full-time position will come from $5 million that University of California officials announced last fall, funding set aside specifically to help undocumented students throughout the UC system, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.

The coordinator will help undocumented students meet their academic and mental health needs.

Some undocumented students are eligible to work under an Obama Administration program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, but that program could go away under a different administration, according to the report.
