University of California, Riverside is officially closed to everything but critical operations.
The campus shut down Monday, with final exams scheduled to end today, according to a statement on the university’s website.
The spring semester, scheduled to begin March 30, will be conducted exclusively online. All non-essential travel is suspended indefinitely, and faculty and staff are trying to define “critical operations.”
Some research will be considered critical, according to the statement.
All clinical and health services, including Student Health Services, will continue as critical campus functions, and employees will work off campus if they can.
“Please anticipate additional communications and guidance in response to the outbreak and campus closure, as the situation is rapidly changing,” the statement reads. “Major campus-wide updates will continue to be posted to the COVID-19 website.”
