A little more than 10 years after it opened, Victoria Gardens is getting an overhaul.
The high-end, open-air shopping mall in Rancho Cucamonga is undergoing major upgrades, including new building facades, more patio dining, wider sidewalks and resting spaces called “parklets,” according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
Most of the work is being done on Monet Avenue, a north-south thoroughfare on the west of the mall.
All of the work is expected to be finished by November, just ahead of the holiday shopping rush. About 20 of the regional mall’s retailers will get a different look either inside or outside, the report stated.
Also, the regional shopping mall at Interstate 15 and Foothill Boulevard is about to pick up some new tenants. The Melt, a restaurant known for its grilled cheese, and Blaze Pizza are both expected to open restaurants there this summer.
Victoria Gardens opened in the fall of 2004. It has 164 retailers and covers about 1.5 million square feet, according to the report.
