Lizette Velazquez and John Lane have been named outstanding students for 2023 at Cal State San Bernardino’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration.
Velazquez earned master’s degrees in entrepreneurship-innovation and cybersecurity, making her the school’s outstanding graduate for the recently concluded academic year, according to a statement on the university’s website.
Velazquez’s goal is to become a technology and cybersecurity entrepreneur.
Lane, the business school’s outstanding undergraduate student, earned a bachelor of science in information systems and technology with a concentration in cybersecurity.
“Cybersecurity is a rapidly growing field, and I recognized the potential to contribute my knowledge and skills to developing solutions for the future,” Lane said in the statement.
Both students were honored at Cal State San Bernardino’s commencement ceremony, which was held on May 20 at the Toyota Arena in San Bernardino.
