Whiteside stepping down as AV’s animal services director

Gina Whiteside is retiring as Apple Valley’s director of animal services.

Whiteside will be replaced by Adriana Atteberry, the town’s animal services supervisor, according to a statement on the town’s website.

“I’m excited to begin a new chapter in my life and look forward to staying active in my hometown,” Whiteside said in the statement.

Whiteside will leave later this year after 29 years on the job.

Apple Valley’s Animal Service Department is made up of field and shelter services. The town’s shelter, at 22131 Powhatan Road, is available to all residents of Apple Valley and the unincorporated communities in San Bernardino County’s High Desert, according to the statement.
