Whole Foods has announced plans to open a store in Palm Desert.
The store, which will employ about 150 people, is scheduled to open Sept. 24, according to a report published in The Press-Enterprise.
The store, at 44-459 Town Center Drive, will sell natural and organic foods. It will cover more than 30,000 square feet and will be the company’s first store in Riverside County, according to the report.

Whole Foods Markets Inc. is based in Austin, Texas. It was founded in 1980 and bills itself as the country’s certified organic grocer.
The company has stores in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, according to the company’s website.
