Larry Williams has been named Apple Valley’s top employee for the second quarter of 2021.
A senior code enforcement officer, Williams is in charge of removing illegal trash dumps and debris and maintaining town-owned vehicles, according to a statement on the town’s website.
Williams started working for Apple Valley in 2002 as a Code Enforcement trainee. He was later promoted to Officer I and Officer II.
Today, he works with the San Bernardino County’s Sheriff’s Department’s Problem-Oriented Policing Program.
Williams was honored during the May 25 town council meeting.
“Larry and the entire code enforcement team are instrumental in maintaining our Town’s positive image, health and safety,” said Mayor Curt Emick in the statement. “Larry has done a tremendous job maintaining a relationship with our sheriff’s department.”
Williams was also recognized for helping to save the life of a co-worker who experienced severe chest pains while on the job.
