City’s online program helps businesses locate

Riverside has launched an online program designed to help business applicants determine, before they sign a lease, whether their proposed location conforms with zoning laws.

Riverside Zoning Check – available at https://riverside.zoningcheck.com – provides applicants with a custom map showing where in Riverside their business may operate, according to a statement posted on the city’s website.

The program will simplify complex city regulations for the business owner and provide staff with a way to identify economic trends and study proposed land uses in greater detail.

“This is a readily accessible source of information that’s handy for the brokers, developers and property owners on a [everyday] basis,” Mayor Pro Tem Chris MacArthur said in the statement. “We are always looking for innovative ways to simplify the experience of doing business in Riverside.”

Funding for the program was obtained through the U.S. Small Business Administration,  according to the statement.
