IECF fund makes annual donations

The Inland Empire Community Foundation has donated $45,000 to three local nonprofits.

Grants of $15,000 each were presented recently to Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center in Temecula, Women of Worship & Welfare International in Colton and San Antonio Regional Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga, according to a statement.

Gwen Dowdy-Rodgers, a trustee with the San Bernardino County Board of Education, also received $5,000 to donate to any charity that serves women in the Inland Empire.

The grants are from the foundation’s annual Women’s Giving Fund, which donates money to organizations in Riverside and San Bernardino counties that provide life-giving assistance to women and their families.

This year’s $50,000 donation is the largest ever given out by the fund.

The community foundation was started in 1941. Since then it has given out more than  $100 million in grants and scholarships, according to the statement.
