The era of disco music will return for one night to the Ontario Convention Center.
Ontario “54” Disco is scheduled to be held June 22 and is open to anyone 21 years old or older, according to a statement.
Participants will be able to relive disco’s golden era with flamboyant costumes, slick dance moves and flashing lights. The Boogie Wonder Band, Evelyn “Champagne” King and DJ Martin Rodriguez will provide live entertainment.
“Disco was so popular in the “70’s and ‘80’s that we decided to bring it back for one night,” said Michael Krouse, the convention center’s president and chief executive officer, in the statement. “Our 70,000 square foot exhibition hall will be transformed into a swanky lounge with a huge dance floor, over the top decor, and of course a five-foot disco ball.”
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster with general admission selling for $25 and VIP tickets for $50. The latter include access to a raised lounge, bottle and dining service and soft seating, according to the statement.
