Sastry J. Pantula has been named dean of Cal State San Bernardino’s College of Natural Sciences.
A recognized expert in statistical sciences, Pantula has worked in higher education for more than 25 years and is currently a professor of statistics at Oregon State University, according to a statement.
Pantula was dean of the Oregon St. College of Science from August 2013 to August 2017.
He is scheduled to start at Cal State San Bernardino July 25.
“We are honored to have someone of Dr. Pantula’s background, experience and leadership abilities joining the College of Natural Sciences,” said Cal State San Bernardino Provost Shari McMahan in the statement. “He has an exceptional record of service and a commitment to the success of students and faculty. I’m confident he will be an asset to our outstanding team.”
Pantula has received an estimated $10 million in grants during his career and has a history of supervising doctoral dissertations and publishing, according to the statement.
