Moreno Valley Mayor pro tem Victoria Baca has been named chair of the March Joint Powers Commission.
Baca, who was selected by her fellow commissioners, has served as the commission’s vice chair and been a commission member since 2014, according to a statement on the city’s website.
She will serve as chair until Dec. 31.
“Moreno Valley has always been an active participant in the March Joint Powers Authority,” Danielle M. Kelly the authority’s executive director, said in the statement. “I look forward to Mayor Pro Tem Baca’s business- friendly attitude leading the agency into a new decade.”
The eight-member commission meets twice a month. It’s the policy-making arm of the March Joint Powers Authority, which decides facilities and land-use issues at the former March Air Force Base in unincorporated Riverside County.
Moreno Valley, Perris, Riverside and Riverside County make up the authority.
