Esri helps federal agency battle COVID-19

Redlands-based Esri is providing its mapping and analytics technology to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help it in its battle against COVID-19.

The technology, which Esri is providing for free, is being distributed to FEMA partners and organizations nationwide, according to a statement.

This collaboration is part of Esri’s  agreement at the Department of Homeland Security, which makes the company’s technology available to all FEMA partners during “incidents of national significance.”

“Esri has been working with agencies like FEMA to ensure that communities across the nation have free, easy access to the most cutting-edge technologies to help them understand and respond to this outbreak,” the statement reads.

Esri is a global leader in geographic information system software, location intelligence, and mapping. Its technology is used by more than 350,000 entities, including 90 Fortune 100 companies, all 50 state governments and 15 executive departments of the U.S. government, according to the statement.
