Moreno Valley is providing free WiFi at some city facilities.
The free WiFi areas – collectively known as WiFi Gardens – convert WiFi at city hall, the main and mall Library branches, employment resource center, and other facilities to free public access, according to a statement on the city’s website.
“ILoveMoVal” network is scheduled to start today. It will be expanded to include free internet access at Cottonwood Golf Center, the Senior Center, and the Community Garden area at the Conference & Recreation Center.
Passwords will not be needed.
“Internet access is an essential service today for residents of all ages,” said Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez in a statement.” And keeping connected right now is especially important with so many residents looking for work and students learning from a distance.” The program will be paid for with funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
