A steel mill in Rancho Cucamonga plans to shut down.
Commercial Metals Co. will close its doors by the end of this year, according to multiple reports.
It’s not known how many people will lose their jobs. The plant, at 12459 Arrow Route, laid off at least 100 workers one year ago when it stopped buying and selling scrap metal.
Irving, Texas-based Commercial Metals reportedly bought the plant in November 2018 for $600 million. The company has facilities in San Bernardino, Fontana, and Santa Fe Springs, according to its website.
