Stater Bros. extends raise for hourly workers

Stater Bros. has extended the $2-per-hour raise it gave to all of its hourly employees earlier this month.

The extension, which will start Dec. 27 and last for at least two weeks, applies to all hourly workers in stores, distribution facilities, transportation, corporate offices, and construction, according to a statement.

The statement doesn’t mention the pandemic but acknowledges company employees’ “dedication to providing solutions for the shopping needs of Southern California families” at Christmas.

“I am extremely proud of our employees who remain dedicated to serving the needs of our Southern California shoppers, said Stater Bros. president and chief executive officer Pete Van Helden in the statement. “This incentive recognizes our employees for their ongoing extraordinary efforts during the holidays.”

All Stater Bros. markets are open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily.
