Palm Springs to hold state of city

Riverside resumes in-person council meetings

The city of Riverside is resuming in-person city council meetings.

Seating will still account for social distancing, and masks are still required.

City officials are trying to make meetings more accessible to the public while continuing to observe required and recommended guidelines for slowing the spread of COVID-19.

“The work to vaccinate Riverside residents and drive down the incidence of COVID-19 is showing results, with businesses getting back to normal and our public enjoying our parks and open spaces more and more,” Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson said. “This trend will now include our city council chambers, which will be more available to the public than at any time since the pandemic started.”

Also starting Tuesday, members of the public can attend an entire council meeting regardless of whether they address the council. Since the pandemic began, anyone who addressed the council had to leave immediately after speaking.
