Stater Bros. Believe Walk will again be virtual

Stater Bros. to open second Whittier location

Stater Bros. will open a new store Wednesday in Whittier, it’s second in the city.

The store at 11810 Whittier Blvd. will replace a store at 11750 Whittier Blvd. that closed two years ago, said Charlotte Wall, a company spokesperson.

The new store is scheduled to open at 6 a.m. Its regular hours will be 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Melissa Brockelmeyer, a 22-year Stater Bros. employee, will manage the store, which is expected to create about 150 jobs.

“We have been a part of the Whittier community since 1953 and we are thrilled to be able to continue to serve the community in this brand-new location,” Stater Bros. Chief Executive Officer Pete Van Helden said in a statement.

The nearly 40,000 square foot location will have 11 check-out stands, several of which will offer self-checkout.  It will include full-service meat, seafood, deli and bakery departments, organic, foods, fruit and sushi.

To mark the store’s opening, Stater Bros. Charities will donate a total of $15,000 to several local charities.

San Bernardino-based Stater Bros. is the largest private employer in the Inland Empire and the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California.
