Perris has opened Enchanted Hills Park, a 22.5-acre facility that includes hiking trails and a motocross course.
The park at 1400 Weston Road was paid for with an $8.5 million grant the city received in February 2020 from the California Department of Parks and Recreation, according to a statement on the city’s website.
It includes active and passive amenities, including grass fields and a playground. It also has a water splash pad, two basketball courts with lights, lit concrete walkways, plazas, an adventure course with exercise equipment and group picnic shelters.
A grand opening ceremony was held on Aug. 26.
“This is indeed a great day for this community, and we are grateful for the patience of the residents who have been waiting for this park,” said council member Rita Rogers in the statement,. “This is a park for our entire city to be proud of, but I know it’s especially wonderful for the community of Enchanted Hills. We are excited to bring a first-class park to such an amazing community within our city.”
