White-collar jobs are increasing at a faster pace in California than the rest of the state’s employment sector.
Professional services jobs, including engineers, accountants, architects, attorneys and consultants, have grown at twice the pace of other jobs since the recession officially ended in 2009, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.
That pace was even faster than job growth in hospitals and healthcare, both of which are growing rapidly sectors in California.
Professional services firms are important to a local economy because they serve clients throughout the country, which brings more money into the region and increases local spending, according to the report.
