Cal State San Bernardino has received a $2.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation.
The grant will help provide scholarships, mentorships, and learning opportunities for low-income students in the School of Computer Science and Engineering, according to a statement on the university’s website.
“This is a very significant grant to train future leaders in science in the era of big data and artificial intelligence,” said Sastry G. Pantula, dean of the College of Natural Sciences, in the statement. “This $2.5 million grant provides access, mentoring, financial support, and high-impact practices for the success of our talented students from the Inland Empire.”
The grant is scheduled to last five years. Scholarships will be awarded annually to cohorts of 30 students who have shown financial need and who are pursuing degrees in computer degrees,
