Terrance L. Stone has been awarded Cal State San Bernardino’s President’s Medal for 2023, the highest honor given out by the school to a non-alumnus.
A gang intervention and prevention specialist, Stone received the award during the university’s annual President’s Dinner Nov. 30 at the Mission Inn in Riverside, according to a statement on the university’s website.
“[Terrance] is truly deserving of the President’s Medal, which recognizes the service and contributions he has made to enhance the well-being of others,” said Tomas Morales, Cal State San Bernardino president, in the statement.
Stone is the founder and chief executive officer of Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Academy in San Bernardino, which has worked with more than 185,000 at-risk youth, according to the statement.
