Tully named Indio police chief

Brian Tully has been appointed Indio police chief.

Formerly the department’s assistant chief, Tully has overseen its Field Services Division and helped coordinate traffic and safety measures for the Coachella and Stagecoach Music and Arts Festivals, according to a statement on the city’s website.

“Chief Tully is well-equipped to lead the Indio Police Department into the future,” said City Manager Bryan Montgomery in the statement. “We are confident that under his leadership, Indio Police Department will continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and community engagement.”

Tully joined the Indio Police Department in 2018 and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He began his career with the San Bernardino Police Department and has more than 25 years experience in law enforcement, according to the statement.
