Historic roadside restaurant expands.

Hadley Fruit Orchards, the 93-year-old roadside cafe in Cabazon, has expanded.

The cafe now covers 1,300 square feet, having added a larger dining room that can seat 72 guests at 18 tables, according to a statement.

Hadley Fruit Orchards has also added several items to its menu, including homemade chicken, pork, beef or jalapeño cheese tamales, Chicago-Style hot dogs and a brisket burger.

“Generations of customers have made a stop at Hadley’s a family tradition as they travel through the San Gorgonio Pass,” said Morongo Tribal Chairman Charles Martin. “Our café expansion allows us to serve more guests while staying true to our commitment to the Hadley legacy of offering only the most wholesome and natural foods.”

Located at 47993 Morongo Trail, Hadley Fruit Orchards was started in 1931 by Paul and Peggy Hadley. The Morongo Band of Mission Indians, whose reservation is near the restaurant, bought the cafe and its catalog business in 1999, according to the company’s website.
