Trader Joe’s to open eight new So Cal locations

Trader Joe’s will open eight new stores in Southern California, including one in the Inland Empire in Murrieta.

No timeline has been disclosed for the openings, which will be part of 16 openings nationwide by the Monrovia-based chain, according to multiple reports.

The Inland Empire store will be located at 40388 Murrieta Hot Springs Road, reportedly inside a former Office Max store. The remaining Southern California locations will be in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties.

Founded in Pasadena in 1967, Trader Joe’s is a national chain of neighborhood grocery stores.  It operates more than 500 stores nationwide in 42 states.

The chain features a large large selection of organic and specialty items, as well as seasonal products. It sells few brand items, but buys directly from suppliers whenever it can and passes the savings on to its customers, according to the company’s website.
