Perris starts repaving project

Perris has begun repaving four miles of the Ramona Expressway.

The $8 million Ramona Expressway Pavement Rehabilitation Project, which broke ground last month, will restore more than four miles of road along Ramona Expressway between Webster Avenue and Rider Street, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Also, a right-turn pocket will be installed that will accommodate eastbound traffic that is moving towards Avalon Parkway.

“This project is important for one of our busiest streets with a high traffic flow,” said City Manager Clara Miramontes in the statement. “Ramona Expressway is an important part of our city gateway, and we are excited to begin this project to improve our infrastructure and roads in this highly traveled part of the city.”

Construction will take place in four phases and is expected to be finished by November, according to the statement.
