Inland unemployment rate falls

The Inland Empire recorded an unadjusted 5.4 percent unemployment rate in September, according to data released last week.

That was down from a revised six percent in August, and above the 5.1 percent forecast of one year ago, the state Employment Development Department reported Oct. 18.

Those number do not take into account seasonal factors that typically take into seasonal factor that typically impact the job market.

California’s unadjusted unemployment rate was 5.3 percent in September – California employers added 14,700 non-agricultural jobs last month, while posting gains in seven economic sectors.

This was the second consecutive month California’s unemployment rate was 5.3 percent. September’s job gain follows a revised job loss of 1,200 for September, according to the EDD.
