CSUSB to host research conference

Cal State San Bernardino will host this year’s Southern California Conference for Undergraduate Research.

The gathering, scheduled to be held Nov. 23, displays noteworthy research and scholarship done by undergraduates at Southern California universities, according to a statement on the university’s website.

The conference typically attracts 700 to 900 participants. It recognizes research in science, humanities, social sciences, arts and performing arts as well as other academic disciplines.

“I am delighted that Cal State San Bernardino will be hosting this year’s [research] conference,” said Tomás D. Morales, Cal State San Bernardino president, in the statement. “The ability to undertake research as an undergraduate is a student success mechanism builds engagement and skills that can be used regardless of whether a student goes to graduate work or enters the workplace after they receive their degree.”

The conference is made of faculty, administrators, and community members. This year’s conference will be led by Cal State San Bernardino’s Officer of Student Research.
