Rancho Cucamonga has a new police captain.
Captain Brad Bonnet of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has been named Rancho Cucamonga’s chief of police and station captain, according to a statement on the county’s website.
Bonnet has more than 20 years experience with the department, which provides all law enforcement in Rancho Cucamonga. He began as a trainee in 2005 and became a deputy that year. He was promoted to detective-corporal in 2012, to lieutenant in 2021, and was named captain last year.
Bonnet was assigned to Rancho Cucamonga in May.
“It’s an honor to return to Rancho Cucamonga and serve the community alongside the men and women of the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department,” Bonnet said in the statement, “I look forward to continuing our strong partnerships with residents, businesses, and community organizations to help keep Rancho Cucamonga safe and thriving.”
I hope Captain Bonnet will start up the Citizens Advisory Committee meetings again.
