San Bernardino County Supervisor Joe Baca Jr. has been elected chair of the county’s Continuum of Care board.
The board is responsible for building a network that connects housing and support services to the homeless, securing funding for housing projects, and overseeing how that money is spent, according to a statement on the county’s website.
Individuals representing cities, the county and nonprofit agencies make up the board, which meets once a month. As chair, Baca will conduct board meetings, set agendas, and appoint committee chairs.
Baca, Jr. replaces Pastor Jessica Alexander, executive director of Operation Grace, which provides shelter and housing to homeless people.
