UCR wants more graduates

UC Riverside wants to increase its graduation rate.

The school is one of 11 public research universities in the United States participating in an $11 million effort to up its graduation rate among low-income students and students whose parents did not attend college, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.

All of the participating universities enroll large numbers of students in both of those categories, both of which obtain degrees at lower rates than other students.

UC Riverside, which has a graduation rate lower than several other UC schools, is the only California university participating in the program, according to the report.
