A nursing school that will offer two paths toward a nursing career is scheduled to open this in Corona this fall.
Students at the Westcliff College of Nursing will be able to pursue either a bachelor of science degree or an entry-level master’s degree, according to a statement on the school’s website.
The latter program is for people who hold another degree and wish to pursue a graduate-level nursing education. Graduates from both programs will be eligible to to take the exam to become registered nurses and obtain a public health nurse certification after they obtain their nursing license.
Officials hope the school at 4140 Temescal Canyon Road will help lessen the shortage of nurses and other healthcare workers in the Inland Empire.
“With the healthcare industry facing an unprecedented demand for skilled nurses, Westcliff’s College of Nursing is a timely response,” said Dr. Anthony Lee, Westcliff’s president and chief executive officer, in the statement. “Our programs will offer aspiring nurses with hands-on education, tech-forward exam support and clinical training.”
