Sanchez named to state board

Angel Sanchez has been appointed to the California Workforce Development Board.

A Riverside resident, Sanchez has been chief executive officer of Phenix Technology Inc. in Riverside since 2022, according to a statement issued by the governor’s office.

Phenix Technology makes helmets and other safety products used by firefighters and other first responders.

Sanchez has worked for Bank of America, where he held several positions, including vice president of government partnerships, senior process design engineer, and learning manager.

He founded the Jurupa Valley Adopt a Family, and is a board member at the Riverside County Workforce Development Board and the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce.

Sanchez’s appointment to the state board does not require Senate confirmation. He is registered to vote but did not state a party preference, according to the statement.
