ONT passenger count keeps growing

Ontario International Airport’s passenger count went up two percent in May, the airport’s 51st consecutive month of year-over-year growth.

The airport accommodated 630,137 passengers last month: domestic passengers totaled 591,336, while the number of international travelers was 38,801, increases of 1.6 percent and 5.8 percent, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

During the first five months of 2025, Ontario International handled nearly 2.7 million passengers, 0.8 percent more than the first five months of 2024. Domestic passenger volume grew to 2.5 million, a 1.1 percent increase.

Southwest Airlines (37.9 percent), American Airlines (15.5 percent), Delta Airlines (10 percent), Frontier Airlines (9.9 percent), and United Airlines (9.6 percent) recorded Ontario International’s top five passenger shares last month.

Air cargo – freight and mail – was up 5.1 percent month-over-month and 9.2 percent year-to-date, according to the statement.
