Eastvale breaks ground on civic center

Eastvale has begun construction on a civic center that is expected to become the centerpiece of the city’s downtown.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently at the corner of Hamner and Limonite avenues on the 156-acre site where the project is being built, according to a statement on the city’s website.

When completed, the civic center will be part of a downtown hub that will include residential, retail and commercial elements. It will also be home to city hall, a police station, and a library, and will feature parks, an amphitheater, and green spaces.

Construction is expected to be completed in early 2028.

“This center will serve Eastvale for generations,” said Mayor Mike McMinn in the statement. “We’re starting the next chapter of Eastvale’s story, and we’re excited for what’s to come.”

Eastvale (pop: 69,514) was incorporated in October 2010. It covers 13 square miles in western Riverside County.

  1. I enjoy Eastvale, have been here 6 years now, hope this included a senior citizen center with activities for seniors. I left Arcadia which has a excellent community center with lots of activities for seniors
