ONT expects busy Thanksgiving season

Ontario International Airport expects to accommodate more than 234,000 travelers during the upcoming Thanksgiving travel period, a four percent year-over-year increase.

This year’s passenger volume is expected to top last year’s record for Thanksgiving travel when nearly 225,000 passengers moved through Ontario International, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

The 11-day travel season starts Nov. 21 and ends Dec. 1, the Monday after Thanksgiving, the busiest days are expected to be Nov. 30 (24,696 passengers), Nov. 26 (23,634) and Dec. 1 (23,390).

Approximately nine percent more seats will be available this year on flights at Ontario International compared with the 2024 Thanksgiving travel season.

Ontario International is on pace to handle more than seven million air travelers this year. During the first 10 months of 2025, the airport welcomed nearly six million passengers, a 0.6 percent increase year-over-year, according to the statement.
