Palm Springs affordable housing project gets state grant

Palm Springs to discuss zoning laws

Palm Springs will discuss possible changes to city’s zoning codes at two public meetings.

The zoning code has received minor updates during the years, but it has not undergone a major overhaul like being conducted now since 1988, according to a statement on Palm Springs’ website.

“Outdated rules are making it harder to build homes, support local businesses, and keep essential workers living right here in our community,” the statement reads.

Palm Spring residents are encouraged to participate in one or both sessions and express their views. The meetings will be held on the following dates:

  • An open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan 26 at Palm Springs Convention Center, 277 N. Avenida Caballeros;
  • A virtual meeting 2:00–3:30 p.m. Feb. 4.
