Mark Prestwich, Hemet’s city manager for the past three years, has announced his retirement.
A public service employee for 33 years, Prestwich worked in Palos Verdes Estates, St. Helena, Nevada City, Sacramento, and Napa before joining Hemet in 2023, according to a statement on the city’s website.
His last day on the job will be May 4. During his time in Hemet, Prestwich helped the city make progress in several areas, including public safety, economic development, infrastructure and community engagement.
“Mark has made meaningful contributions to Hemet through his leadership and commitment to our community,’ said Mayor Linda Krupa in the statement. “While I am saddened to see him depart, I am also excited for him as he enters retirement and this next phase of life. He will be greatly missed.”
