Vincent Nestler has been named Cal State San Bernardino’s outstanding professor for the 2025-’26 academic year.
An instructor in the School of Cyber and Division Sciences, Nestler was recognized for his teaching, research, and service students, according to a statement on the university’s website.
Following tradition, President Tomas D. Morales presented the award to Nestler during a surprise visit to one of the professor’s lectures.
“Since 2016, Professor Nestler has involved over 1,000 local K-12 students and educators in GenCyber summer camps and professional development workshops,” Morales said in the statement. “He literally co-wrote the book that hundreds of institutions use as a standard reference for their curricula.”
The award includes being named the John M. Pfau Endowed Professor, which comes with a $3,000 faculty development grant, according to the statement.
