Charles Berry has been named Colton’s assistant city manager.
Formerly the city’s electric utility director, Berry began his new job in April, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Berry was Lompoc’s utility director before joining Colton. He also held several management positions with the Imperial Irrigation District and represented Colton at the Southern California Public Power Authority, where he worked on energy policy and resource planning.
“I am very happy to see Charles step into this new role” said City Manager Bill Smith in the statement. “He will do a great job for the city.”
Colton brought back the assistant city manager position after letting it sit vacant for 15 years, according to the statement.
