Wendy A. Cortez has been named chief operating officer at Kaiser Permanente Ontario.
Cortez will oversee medical center operations and work with physicians, nurses to improve performance and produce quality outcomes, according to a statement released by the health care provider.
She is scheduled to begin her new position Sept. 13.
Cortez’s most recent position was chief nurse executive at Kaiser Permanente Irvine, where she was responsible for nursing practice and operations.
“Ontario Medical Center has tremendous momentum and a strong commitment to serving patients and members,” Cortez said in the statement. “I look forward to building relationships across the medical center, bringing teams together around shared goals and helping create an environment where people can do their best work.”
