Cal State San Bernardino has a new police chief.
Nina Jamsen will replace interim chief David Keetle starting Aug. 31, according to a university press release.
Jamsen, who has worked in law enforcement for more than 27 years, will oversee the campus police department and manage the school’s parking and transportation operations.
Before joining Cal State San Bernardino Jamsen worked in the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, where she was in charge of security at the county’s Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center.
That facility houses about 200 employees and 1,500 inmates on a typical day.
Jamsen reached the rank of lieutenant during her time with the sheriff’s department. Before joining the department she was chief of police in Loma Linda and Grand Terrace, and she has also been a law enforcement liaison to the San Manuel Indian Reservation, according to the release.
