Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!
This week, Ed starts the show with analysis on the Iranian prisoner swap. Like most people, Ed is glad our hostages were returned to us – but like some of you, he has concerns about the terms of the arrangement. In exchange for four hostages to be returned to us (one of whom mysteriously chose to stay in Iran), we gave back seven Iranian terrorists and promised not to prosecute 14 more.
“The guys that we gave up weren’t prisoners of war,” Ed says. “They committed espionage. They were tried and convicted.” One of the presidential candidates had some great insight on it this week; tune in to The Main Event to hear who it was! You’ll also hear Ed’s suspicions about the timing of the release, and his response to Secretary of State John Kerry saying the government is still trying to find former CNN operative Robert Levinson in Iran as well. “Is that like OJ Simpson saying he’s still looking for the real killer?” Ed says.
Next it’s on to a discussion on the movie “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” which Ed says left the audience he saw it with “stunned.” “Never have I felt so much like America is gone,” Ed says, “until I saw it on the screen. It even says on the screen, ‘This is a true story.’ To watch it on film blows you away. Just in case you aren’t watching the Benghazi hearings and you’re too busy worrying about the Superbowl,” Ed says, “go see this movie instead…I’m speechless on how important of a movie this is to watch.”
Naturally, liberal bloggers are trashing the film because it tells the truth about what happened the night of September 11, 2012 – and Ed plays a scathing criticism of those bloggers from Fox’s Greg Gutfeld. If you loved the movie, or you simply want to hear what it’s all about, tune in to The Main Event this week! Ed breaks it down so thoroughly, you’ll feel like you’re in the theater. There’s also some harsh criticism for the actors boycotting the Oscars this year, and Ed offers a fascinating “follow the money” theory that points in an unexpected direction; one hint is that it’s connected to Will Smith’s role in “Concussion.” There’s also some fun Oscar talk to lighten things up.
On this week’s show, you’ll also hear:
- Ed’s response to those who think it’s time to stop the Ted Cruz birther talk
- His thoughts on Sarah Palin endorsing Donald Trump
- Which “13 Hours” scenes are an indictment of Hillary Clinton and the President
As the show winds down, Ed announces his charity endeavors for the year, including building a house for an amputee veteran and another Boot Campaign Push-Ups for Charity fundraiser. If you’re interested in participating, contact him at [email protected].
