The Inland Empire Economic Partnership has awarded $23,000 in scholarship money to 23 Inland Empire high school students, all of whom are headed for college.
Each student received $1,000. The funding was provided by several local corporations and company foundations, as part of the economic partnership’s Cash for College Program, according to a statement.
“Along with our members, it gives us great pleasure to support the future leaders of the Inland Empire through college scholarships,” said Paul Granillo, president of the economic partnership, in the statement.
The Cardenas Foundation, Gerdau, Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Co., Wells Fargo and Loma Linda University all donated to Cash for College. The 23 wining students represented 19 schools in 16 Inland Empire school districts, according to the statement.
