Aldi Ready for Major Opening

Unofficially, March 24th will be Aldi Day in the Inland Empire.

The global discount supermarket chain is scheduled to open eight stores in Riverside and San Bernardino counties that day, the company’s first stores in Southern California, according to a statement released Monday.

Each of those stores will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an official grand opening, followed by a Golden Ticket Giveaway – discount coupons of various amounts – to the first 100 shoppers in attendance.

Eco-Friendly bags will be distributed and a product sampling will be held at all eight locations, along with a contest to give away produce for one year.

The eight store locations are: 1638 E. 2nd St., Beaumont; 15080 Summit Ave., Fontana; 78601 Highway 111, La Quinta; 18294 Collier Ave., Lake Elsinore; 12630 Day St., Moreno Valley; 5200 E. Ramon Road, Palm Springs; 625 E. Hospitality Lane, San Bernardino; 34000 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa.

German-based Aldi operates nearly 10,000 stores in 18 countries, including close to 1,500 stores in the United States. The chain was honored with the 2015 Supermarket News Retail Achievement Award, which recognized the company for its product evolution and ongoing expansion, according to the statement.
